The main character is a young man called Diff James. He cant speak, because he never learnt to speak. He lives in the same house with Holly Wilson. Holly is the daughter of the police chief. They love each other but they don’t know it from each other.

In the beginning:
Diff and Holly were going to make a flight. When they were in the air they saw another airplane goes down. They went to search for the plane but the couldn’t find it. A couple of days later the plane shows up in some kind of lake with the dead pilot still in it.

In the end:
Before Diff finds the killer, he almost got killed himself.
