• The main character: Forrest Gump, a good-hearted young man from Alabama, USA. He’s an unusual guy, he wins a medal for being very brave in the Vietnam war and he meets the president of the USA. He becomes a footballer, a film star, a businessman and he goes into space, and his best friend is an ape called Sue!

In the Beginning:

Forrest says he was born an idiot and he tells what happened to his father, he died just after Forrest was born, he worked on the ships, and a big box of bananas fell down on his dad and killed him. He tells everyone was running away from him but one girl didn’t, Jenny Curran, and sometimes she walked home with him. Then they put him into another kind of school, and there were some strange boys there. Some couldn’t eat or go to the toilet without help. He stayed in that school for five or six years. One day a car stopped besides him, the guy in the car asked if he ever played football, Forrest said no. 3 days later the man got him out of school and they went to play football.

At the end:

Forrest was playing songs on his harmonica in the park, he noticed a little boy watching him and when he looked up he saw Jenny Curran. She knew it was him when she heard the harmonica. She told him the boy was Forrest’s son. The boy is also named Forrest and he wants to be a football player.
